CSUN offers undergraduate programs in Classical Performance, Jazz Studies, Composition, Commercial/Media Writing (orchestration and scoring for film, tv, video games and other media), Music Education, Music Industry, and Music Therapy.
Master’s programs are offered in Classical Performance, Collaborative Piano, Jazz Performance, Composition, and Orchestral, Wind and Choral Conducting.

CSUN alumni are members in all the major orchestras of Los Angeles: Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Opera, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, scoring orchestras at Warner Bros., Twentieth Century Fox, Sony Studios MGM and many others. Many continue their studies at Juilliard School, New England Conservatory, Cleveland Institute of Music while others have become music business executives at major production companies.
