A Different Kind of Conservatory
Mannes offers a curriculum as imaginative as it is rigorous, taught by world-class faculty and visiting artists. Beyond gaining mastery through private lessons, ensemble experiences, master classes, and a thorough grounding in theory, students benefit from Mannes’ leading-edge cross-disciplinary approach. Our students take courses in subjects like entrepreneurship and musical technologies, preparing them for the evolving classical music market. Mannes is located on The New School’s Greenwich Village campus and hosts performances there and at prestigious New York venues such as City Center, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall.

The master’s program enables students to deepen their abilities as a performer while gaining knowledge of and skills in business, leadership, and entrepreneurship.
Within The New School’s College of Performing Arts, students can also pursue a Performer-Composer Master of Music (MM) degree, designed for musicians whose passion lies at the intersection of composition, performance.
