The whole thing was pretty lucky, but that’s generally how it goes in this business — many gigs first come about as the result of factors beyond one’s control (i.e. dumb luck), but keeping them and turning them into something greater is almost entirely up to one’s level of skill and preparedness. Fortunately, I think everyone gets a certain amount of luck, so the key is to make sure you’re ready for it when it comes along.”
